Caption: What do you mean you're not shocked that the president's chief of staff is glorifying the confederacy? Google the third stanza of the "Star-Spangled Banner," bruh. "No refuge could save the hireling and slave from the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave ... " Whachoocall a country that sing "freedom" songs 'bout how it killed runaway slaves who was fighting with the British to get they freedom? Google is so divisive.

Caption: You know what gets me about terrorists? The really frustrating part? It's that we all know them. What do you mean? You know how you come across someone online who has a completely wrong view of reality … but when you give him facts that prove him wrong, he just gets angry and condescending and treats you like you're subhuman trash. Terrorists are internet trolls come to life. You can't ever, ever get rid of internet trolls. I wish the world could just unfriend them.

Caption: How do they get away with these despicable, monstrous lies? Donald Trump says he witnessed thousands of Arabs in New Jersey cheering as the Twin Towers fell on 9/11. And Ben Carson says he saw "newsreels" of that too. That never happened. We all remember what it was like that day. Crowds of Arab-Americans were not out in the streets of New Jersey cheering. To be fair, Trump and Carson were talking about the Arabs who live in their heads. Trump and Carson's head-Arabs aren't half as scary as they are.

Caption: What's with all these teenage girls running away to join ISIS? Are they crazy? Don't they know how they treat women? Some girls just can't help being drawn to "bad boys." And evil men are the "baddest" around. It's the excitement. It's the danger. It's the thrill of being with someone who could utterly ruin you ... Er, I assume. I wouldn't really know.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-09-11 Pub. Date: 2011-09-11
Image Number: 65034
Caption: What were you thinking about when you went to bed on 9/11? I was praying to wake up the next day and it'd all just be a dream. What were you thinking about when you went to be on 9/11? I was hoping we'd rise to the occasion and honor the dead, the survivors, and the heroes ... by failing to rebuild the Twin Towers, by curtailing our own civil liberties, by calling each other "un-American," by torturing prisoners, mocking the French, invading the wrong country, and having our airports inspect kids' and old people's underpants. I like to have realistic hopes. I don't think sarcasm's allowed on 9/11 day.

Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-08-19 Pub. Date: 2011-08-19
Image Number: 64453
Caption: In less than a month, it'll be ten years since 9-11. I thought we'd have rebuilt the Twin Towers by now. Instead, we spent the last ten years waging a war that half of us didn't want, wrecking our economy, bickering and being petty. That's your side's fault.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-05-12 Pub. Date: 2011-05-12
Image Number: 60780
Caption: Osama Bin Laden visits Lemont's dream. The real reason I caused so much pain and suffering is because I was … I don't care. What? Infidel! I’m the most important figure of the century. I changed the course of history. I … Bore me. When you murder innocent people, you make yourself a two-dimensional mustache-twirling villain. You make your ideology irrelevant. You make yourself a mosquito that needs swatting. Mosquitoes kill hundreds of thousands of people. I hate mosquitoes ... Yet don't particularly care about their motivations.

Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-05-11 Pub. Date: 2011-05-11
Image Number: 60779
Caption: Osama Bin Laden visits Lemont's dream. I changed America forever. Oh, please. It's not the first time America got caught off-guard, panicked, and let opportunists make us a nation of bed-wetting, freedom-surrendering war-monkeys who're afraid of our own shadows. Remember the Soviet Union? You're like a second-rate ... Krushchev. Gesundheit. What? What?

Caption: Wha --? Who's there? The harbinger of your doom. I am the angel of death incarnate, the runner of empires, my very name makes you cower like a dog. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. I am … Osama Bin Laden. Did you just steal a line from Obi Wan Kenobi? I've never even heard of Star Wars, you swine!

Caption: Why do you want to switch seats? What's wrong with yours? Well, it's by the wing, so I can't see much. Also, there's a terrorist next to me. It's ok, they don't seem to be making them like they used to. Terrorism for Dummies. What?

Caption: Do you happen to have a match? Why? You a terrorist or something? Seriously? If I were, would I be so stupid or poorly trained that I'd forget to bring a match with me? I guess not. I don't have one anyway, though. Oh. ... Do you happen to have any ammonium nitrate fertilizer soaked in diesel fluid? OH COME ON!!!

Caption: VH1 presents Where are They Now? The Some People Story. It was the mid-2000's. Politicians across the country relied on him. There wasn't a press conference around that didn't broadcast his beaming smile. I sound wise compared to him. And for one brief fearmongering season, the strawman called "some people" was at the top of his game. I've forgotten 9-11. I want to hug terrorists. But as often happens in the cutthroat false argument business, his star began to dim. I want to take your guns. Yawn. And it sent him on a downward spiral. He came into the bar already drunk, talkin' 'bout nobody's scared of him no more and no one takes 'im seriously. Bartender. ... an' I was like "bruh, you're bringin' down the whole room." Very bad tipper, too. But then, in his darkest hour, some people makes a surprising comeback. AFTER THESE MESSAGES...

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2008-05-04 Pub. Date: 2008-05-04

Caption: I'm the product of a broken home… …but I grew up watching "The Cosby Show," and it was almost like I was part of that perfect family. I grew up a loner, but I watched 'A Different World,' and it was almost like I had lots of cool friends. My government grew corrupt and cynical, but I watched "The West Wing," and it was almost like I had honest leaders who looked out for me. 9/11 scared me, but I watched "24" and felt safe from terror. I see. You're afraid your entire world is an illusion? ...And I don't know what to watch for that.

Caption: On the one hand, I think John Edwards has the best plan to give all Americans health insurance, and I really like that. On the other hand, he got a pricey haircut. Oh the one hand, think Rudy Giuliani can keep terrorists from killing me and my cat, and I really like that. On the other hand, his kids don't like him. So I don't think I can support either one. What's that tell you, doc? That you're petty. On the one hand that makes sense. On the other hand, your goatee looks weird.

Image Number: 18248
Caption: THIS JUST IN: An Al-Qaida terrorist was caught registering to vote today. He was planning to vote for politicians who prioritize tax cuts above all else… …and who oppose spending taxpayer dollars to maintain the nation's infrastructure. Roads, bridges, tunnels, rail, levees and dams would decay and collapse. Thousands of Americans could have been killed. Thank goodness they caught him in time!

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2007-08-15 Pub. Date: 2007-08-15

Caption: Right, you look like a chap who can keep a secret. I am part of an elite terrorist cell… …tasked with killing Americans in more efficient ways. That is why I am registering to vote. I shall vote for short-sighted politicians who will cut taxes even if it means bridges, roads, tunnels, levees and dams will crumble to the ground. Say what? I won the "outside of the box thinker" award back home.
