Caption: This country's overrun with people who hate talking about racism more than they hate racism itself. I wrote an article about a breaking story. I called it White Man in a Pickup Truck Shoots into Black Family's Car, Kills Seven-Year-Old. Hundreds of people replied Why do you have to bring race into it? Bet they came up with all kinds of excuses. On of them said Some pickup-truck drivers just really don't like cars.

Caption: I don't care about anything I've heard lately, I'm still voting for Donald Trump on Tuesday. Yeah, maybe he teaches young men it's ok to objectify and assault women. And maybe he teaches young women that they're worthless. But we're not electing a "role model." And sure, maybe he's a tad racist. But we're not electing a "sensitivity trainer." Sigh. Newsweak. And yeah, maybe he hasn't paid income taxes ever since "Pocahontas" was in theaters, but we're not electing a "Taxpayer in Chief." And sure, maybe he's far better at alienating people than he is at winning them over. But we're not electing a "leader." ... What? Nothing.

Caption: I don't care what the evidence says, the "Central Park Five" were guilty of assaulting that woman! I said it before and I'll say it again: what were they doing there in the first place, playing checkers? Trump. Seriously, Mr. Trump? Why would black and brown kids be in a park? SERIOUSLY? EXACTLY! You see my point. Very suspicious.

Caption: I just started reading the book "2312." It starts on Mercury, where we built a city that constantly travels along rails to avoid the cataclysmic fire of the sun. It's hard to remember we're even capable of that sort of thing. We don't even build the world's tallest buildings anymore. We don't build much of anything. We barely even fill potholes. Once upon a time, we thought big. We built bridges. We carved new rivers. We sent men to the moon. But we've stopped thinking big. Did you know Saudi Arabia's building a tower that's almost twice as tall as our tallest building? Saudi Arabia ain't part of "we"? It ... That's not what I ... Oh, shut up.

Caption: "James Bond" can't be black. Why not? Black, white, so what? Was he ever black in the books? I don't think they ever even mentioned ethnicity. All he has to be is smooth, charming, debonair and cunning. What's important is that he's English. And there are plenty of black men in England. There'd be a lot of bigots furious about this. Bonus. It would give me a reason to avoid the internet and have a life again. Dios mio.

Caption: Erebody outraged that the Clippers owner told his girl not to hang out with black people like Magic Johnson. But where was "erebody" when that same dude was disrespecting minorities in his apartment building for 30 years? Disrespect average people? No problem. But disrespect pro athletes? You over. So you didn't legally change your name to "Magic Johnson" for identity theft purposes? How dare you impugn Magic Johnson motives.

7. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2014-05-12 prejudice
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2014-05-12 Pub. Date: 2014-05-12
Image Number: 111229
Caption: Can you believe that Clippers owner? Whachoo mean? You know … that guy who told his girlfriend not to bring black people to his games, and not to post pictures online of herself associating with them. It was just three weeks ago. Oh, that. Yeah, I could believe that. What I can't believe is people who can't believe it. What country you think you in, Kumbaya-stan? You're a ray of sunshine, aren't you?

Caption: What's wrong, Lemont? I wish the Supreme Court would make up it's mind. Over the course of 24 hours, there were a few 5-4 decisions. One made it harder for minorities to vote … … But others made it possible for gay couples in California to marry, and for gay married couples to receive federal benefits. Now I don't know whether they're ENLIGHTENED by a margin of 5-4, or BUTTHEADED by a margin of 5-4.

9. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2013-07-03 prejudice
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2013-07-03 Pub. Date: 2013-07-03
Image Number: 98734
Caption: I'm glad the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. Wheeze wheeze. Stealing Democracy. Since the Voting Rights Act passed in 1965, things have gotten so much better. Wheeze. Nobody stops blacks from voting, and when they try the courts stop them. Wheeze wheeze. We don't need it any more than I need that inhaler that completely cured my asthma. Wheeze.

10. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2013-07-01 prejudice
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2013-07-01 Pub. Date: 2013-07-01
Image Number: 98732
Caption: IN a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court has ruled that racism is over. In a related ruling they've gutted the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Apparently fifty years of making it harder for former Jim Crow states to prevent minorities from voting seems to have done the trick. What was that, Chad? Oh ... My bad ... The court ruled that NOTICING racism is over. The court has left the NOTICING of noticing racism intact.

11. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2009-01-25 prejudice
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2009-01-25 Pub. Date: 2009-01-25
Image Number: 29572
Caption: I'm tired of people comparing anti-gay laws to bigotry against Black folks. I mean, WE faced slavery and lynchings and beatings. Sure, gays have been beaten and killed for centuries, slaughtered in the Holocaust, and denied equal rights and everything, but that's just not the same. If it were all that bad, they'd have had their own miniseries by now. Say what? Where's the gay "Roots"? You just don't see it. Until I see the gay Kunta Kinte on my TV, I refuse to take any of this seriously.

Caption: The young slave Frederick Douglass has an odd dream… Are we lowly animals to be abused at will? Master tied Aunt Hester to a beam and stripped her bare. Then, with his face red with fury, he slashed his whip down and down until the soil below was saturated with blood. I feel you, Dog. I can't even go into a 7-Eleven without the guard lookin' at me funny. ...You poor fellow. An' if I try to get a small business loan? Forget it.

Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2008-11-19 Pub. Date: 2008-11-19
Image Number: 28120
Caption: Taking rights away from the gays is NOT the same as bigotry against black folks! You choose to be gay, you don't choose to be black! Let's say you're right… You choose your religion, too. If I took away rights only from Catholics, would that be bigotry? Well, I'm not Catholic, so no. It wouldn't be.

Caption: So, you voted for Obama as the realization of Dr. King's dream that we'd all be judged by who we are, not what we are… Check. …and that all of us would have equal rights. Check. And then you voted to take equal rights away from gay people. Check. And you don't see any shameful irony in that. Check.

Caption: You waited in line seven hours? I'da waited 20 to vote for Obama. 400 years. About time America realized everybody on God's earth is equal. Tell it. Except the gays. Say what? Thank God I got to vote to keep THOSE PEOPLE in their place.

Caption: Meanwhile, at the studios of "Late Night with Jayvid Lennonman"… I'm totally flummoxed, sir. Come on… One of you's got to have some idea how to tell jokes about Barack Obama without sounding racist. Face it, boss! We're a late night show with a white host and white writers! There's just no way! Y'all could hire some black writers. Did you hear something? Some buzzing. Maybe a bee. "Flummoxed"? Who says "Flummoxed"?

Caption: I'm tired of people saying Rush Limbaugh's a racist just 'cause of a few comments… …like when he called Barack Obama a "little black man-child." You goin' down, son. I mean, he only meant… um… he only meant… He ain't gonna make it. He meant that's now LIBERALS see Obama! Cough it up.

Caption: Michelle Obama said "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback." Gasp! Mainstream media. WHAT?! That means she was never proud of America until later in life! She's no patriot! Mainstream Media. She also said "I really didn't love America until I was deprived of her company." WHAT?! Mainstream media. That means she never loved America until later in life! She's no patriot! Oops, correction: John McCain said that last one. Mainstream media. Really? Oh, well then it's a poetic testament to the moment a man fell in love with his country.

Caption: I had a nightmare, Susan. I dreamt we lived in a country where we judged people not on their own words… …but on the words of people they happened to know. This just in… Barack Obama's church once honored a man whose great great great grandfather traveled across the Atlantic chained to Shaka Zulu's half-brother, Herman Zulu. Hillary Clinton had this to say: "All I'm saying, Wolf, is that if I were directly connected to a brutal 19th century warlord, I'd apologize for it."
