Caption: I'm only 5,000 donors short. What? What're you talking about, Clyde? Did you know the Democratic party changed they debate rules, bruh? All a brother need is to be at 1% in the polls, have 65,000 unique donors, an' 200 unique donors per state from at least 20 states. An' did you know there ain't no law at all against changin' your legal name to Bernie Sanderz and settin' up a donate to Bernie Sanderz website? Also, ain't no law against sayin' Buy my new album on iTunes in answer to ever debate question. I've got a strange feeling of deja vu about this. Don't worry. I'm sure I won't actually win.

Caption: Neither party does anything for me. Why should I vote? C-Dog's incredibly bad advice 50¢. The answer simple, bruh: You shouldn't. Your vote is your voice. 'Least it the only voice a politician listen to. Best way to get a politician to listen to you is to now say anything.

Caption: Hello congressional candidate, your robocall has reached the home of a registered voter. I can't come to the phone right now because I'm out searching for the nonexistent job your party promised you'd deliver last time you ran for office. I'm Lemont Brown. And I approved this message.

Caption: What are the most important issues facing the working class? The what? The working class. And poor folks. Oh. Yeah. Of course. Mainstream Media. Trump's working-class voters stick with him, as Democrats can't decide whether to once again be the party of FDR. No, I mean tell me about actual, non-Trump-related issues working class people have to deal with. Progressives and corporate Dems book mud-wrestling pit to discuss midterm strategy.

Caption: Merry Christmas … Yeah, I said it. Put that in your secularist pipe and smoke it. #LOL! #Youlose. Bet that really gets you upset, doesn't it? Not really. I love Christmas. I'm having a Christmas party tonight. My little boy's going to be an elf. I'm going to be Rudolph the Reindeer. Yeah, right. Like I believe that ... Would you like to come? Yes ... I mean, someone has to prove your "party" is a ruse!

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville

Image Number: 161361
Caption: Excuse me, sir, if it's not too much trouble … Hi, Democrats. What can I get you? Coffee Sandwiches? An explanation. We introduced our bold new plan last month: "A Better Deal," but the progressives still aren't impressed. What more could they ask for? We focus-group tested the heck out of the slogan. It was the least objectionable and least un-inspiring of the bunch! It evokes FDR's "New Deal" and LBJ's "Fair Deal" without over-promising. We don't want to risk over-promising. It even sounded progressive! We mentioned tax credits to retrains workers, a $15 minimum wage (eventually), regulating prescription drug prices, and busting monopolies, maybe. We even said we'd think about forming a committee to consider considering sing-payer health care, among many other more corporate-donor-friendly options that aren't single-payer. And we introduced it with an editorial vowing not to expand government or move our party in one direction or another along the political spectrum. Bold! So why didn't that fire up the progressive base? ... Hello?

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2017-08-25 Pub. Date: 2017-08-25
Image Number: 161804
Caption: I detest those Nazis and KKK and white supremacists who marched on Charlottesville. You do? That's great. I'm surprised. I mean, you were a tea partier, you hate immigration, you've fought to make it harder for minorities to vote, you complain all the time about gays and Muslims and atheists ... You're right, they do have some good points. But still ... all that violence and the Anti-Semitism and the tattoos and the torches. I detest all of that stuff. Never look a political awakening in the mouth. Maybe "detest" is too strong a word.

Caption: Hey Susan, did you get that evite from Clyde? Which one? The evite to his birthday party where he wrote "in lieu of gifts, bring a shovel and wear your work pants"? No. The evite to his housewarming party at his underground bunker? No. I've been ignoring his evites for months now. Ever since Trump won, they've been getting more and more cynical. I'm talking about his evite to watch the upcoming race war on his tv.

Caption: I'm heading to DC to report on the Democratic party's filibuster against that judge Trump's appointed to the stolen Supreme Court seat. And then I'm going to cover how they all boldly signed on to Bernie Sanders' Medicare-for-All bill. Wait … are you being sarcastic? Then I'm going to cover their stunning refusal to accept any more Wall Street bribes.

Image Number: 155381
Caption: It's as if people don't care if they're lied to, as long as the guy doing the lying is "their" guy. People love getting lied to, Lemont. That's what makes my job so fun. Crafting a good ad campaign is like sitting by the glow of a lamp and telling your sweet little child and a night-night story. Every good night-night story omits the gruesome details. I thought you hated kids. Oh, not at all. I love them ... in theory.

Caption: Do you have any children? Yeah, a son. He's almost two. Almost three. I like children. There's an old saying: "If you are not a liberal at twenty, you have no heart and if you are not a conservative at thirty, you have no brain." But that saying ignores that it's the very little kids who actually have it right. Anything they can grasp is theirs, and your rules mean nothing to them. I don't want to have this conversation. If you're not libertarian at two, you have no guts.

Caption: What's wrong, Lemont? I always ask myself one question when I cover a politician in my own party. "What would I think if this person were in the opposing party?" People are hypocrites, Susan. We tend to give a pass to people in our own parties. But I'm a journalist: I have an obligation to be candid. Even if it causes people to stop visiting my blog. So ... you're thinking of writing an article about Clinton? That's an awfully strong grip you have there.

Caption: The more I hear Donald Trump talk, the more I like him. I thought you said Trump was an embarrassment. That he was totally bigoted and un-American, and didn't in any way represent the Republican party. You said you'd never vote for him in a million years. Yeah, but that was before. Before what? Newsweak. Before now. We're closer to the election now. Now is when both Republicans and Democrats start to forget what we said before, and fall in line behind our parties' front-runners. Well technically that time would be after the primaries, but I figure, why wait? Well, I'm still going to wait.

Caption: I'm tired of people playing the race card every time a state restricts voting rights. Take North Carolina, for instance. I mean, sure, the head of Pasquotank County's Republican Party says he plans to challenge the voter registration of students at a historically black college. I don't see how that's racial. You don't? News-Weak. No, in fact, it's the people who NOTICED that most of the students at the black college are black ... They're the racists. You nose is bleeding. What are you talking about? I don't see any nose except yours. Maybe it's yours. Maybe it's YOURS that's bleeding. Hello, 911? ... Yes, I'll hold.

Caption: Tonight's top story: Tea party Favorite, Republican Senator Ted Cruz, Was Born In A Foreign Country. Republicans point out that since his mom was American, he's still a "natural-born citizen," eligible to run for president. They Also apologize for all that censored "birther" stuff they dragged us all though. In unrelated news, you're dreaming right now.

Caption: You know who's to blame for everything? The liberal media. You know who's to blame for everything? The right-wing corporate media. You know who else is also to blame for everything? The labor unions. The destruction of the unions. Everyone who doesn’t think like I do is to blame for everything.

Caption: The Republican party brand has taken a beating going into this convention … What with talk of how Romney-Ryan would replace Medicare with Groupon specials … Before lathering all women and minorities in honey and throwing them into a bear pit. Thank you for watching MSNBC.
