Caption: Ask Sadie Advice Hour, what's your problem?! NASA. I just read an article about how NASA canceled yet another moon mission. What are they hiding??? Excellent question. As you all know, I was an astronaut on the top-secret final Apollo mission back in 1973. Did you realize Apollo fro Battlestar Galactica was played by the lovely, departed Richard Hatch? I once worked soldering hatches on nuclear submarines. Wait ... are you trying to chance the subject? Submarine sandwiches, contrary to popular misconception, are not actually meant to be eaten under water. Coverup!!!

Caption: Boss, North Korea's dictator just tweeted that he's considering launching nuclear missiles. He released a map of targets. The map shows that every part of the country will either be destroyed or irradiated. Except for this café. There are like 80 people out there with sleeping bags already. Did you rename the scones Survival Biscuits as I instructed? And did you know six-year-old geniuses will hack a head of state's Twitter account in return for a single bag of Doritos? Very bad man.

Caption: Did you say we import our coffee beans from Chernobyl? Isn't that place a nuclear wasteland? That's culturally insensitive. Chernobyl is a beautiful land of glowing trees and three-headed mooses with raccoon tails. The brave and selfless tribe of hard-working grotesque mutants who hunt our coffee beans for us prefers "post-natural wilderness" to "nuclear wasteland." This is disgu -- Wait, what do you mean "hunt" our coffee beans? Don't get all bleeding-heart about it. The beans skittering around and chucking spears is no evidence they're sentient.

Caption: Boss, are you sure I should dump our toxic waste in the creek? Of course, minion. Little known fact … While everyone was obsessed with Trump's inauguration crowd size, he quietly froze all grants and contracts by the Environmental Protection Agency. The township's Department of Monitoring-Toxic-Waste-in-the-Creek lost its funding and had to lay off its inspectors. Why do we even have toxic waste? We're a cafe. No reason. Say, did you know it's .07% cheaper to import coffee beans from Chernobyl?

Caption: I'm watching "Untold History of the United States" on Netflix. Is it true it was actually the Soviet Union that won World War II? … and is it true Japan was trying to surrender because the USSR had just entered the war against them, but we nuked them anyway just to show Russia who was boss? And is it true Truman single-handedly started the cold war and the arms race by reneging on deals Roosevelt and Churchill had struck with Stalin and then threatening to nuke the USSR? History's interesting now that I can stream it. I don't know what that means, but it sounds inappropriate.

Caption: Analysts have said the US and Russia are closer to nuclear war than ever. The outcome of the election tomorrow will probably determine whether we live in mediocrity … or whether we suffer a nuclear apocalypse in which a crafty café owner, who's squirreled away scones and ammunition in a vast network of underground bunkers, could rise to become feudal warlord of a brand new world. So ... who are you voting for again? The person I've been preparing ever since 2nd grade to vote for.

Caption: Show me Elon Musk's announcement about going to Mars. Error: Video not found. Are you sure? It's on Youtube. He talks about how this is our insurance against an extinction-level event. What is "extinction level event"? You know, like an asteroid hitting us, or nuclear war, or the rise of an evil artificial intelligence bent on exterminating us. Show me Elon Musk's warning about artificial intelligence. Error: Video not found.

Caption: 47 Republican senators sent a letter to the government of Iran saying any agreement they reach with the president is worthless. Students in Oklahoma were caught cheerfully singing chants about lynching black people. Hillary Clinton used a private email address, and Kim Kardashian is blond now. I told you, constantly getting breaking news alerts on your phone would not end well. Jellyfish protein may help improve memory.

Caption: What if history had turned out differently? I've often wondered the same thing. What if the nuclear tests had happened at a different Marshall Island, other than Bikini Atoll? The bikini could've very well been called "the Rongerik." or "the Enewetak." or "the Rongelap." The possible perturbations boggle the mind. I meant something more important. ... Like how if Nintendo had adopted compact discs, the Playstation never would've happened.

Caption: Boss … The CIA is here. They say they're doing an inspection. Not a problem. If they ask about centrifuges, uranium or a secret laboratory, just tell them you don't know what they're talking about. And whatever you do, don't let them press the third brick from the left of the furnace in the basement. What are you up to? Nothing. Why do you ask? Also, tell them I've died.

Caption: Little known fact: I spent a semester at Reed College in Portland. "Little known facts" are supposed to be momentous. Well, the little known fact is, while I was there, I asked a lady out … and she actually said "no." … Yeah. That happened. Also, Reed has the only nuclear reactor staffed mainly by undergrads.

Caption: Looks like Vladimir Putin's single-handedly restarting the cold war. Heh-heh … You said "Putin." He's invaded Georgia, he's invaded the Ukraine … He's trying to get the old band back together again. Say "Putin" again. Do you have any idea how much this changes everything, minion? During cold war 1, I was too young to get in on the action. By the time I had cornered the market on nuclear fallout antidote, the cold war was over. The kindergarteners all demanded their lunch money back. Ingrates. I never thought I'd get a second chance, Rudy. Is "Blueberry Radiation-Shielding Muffins" catchy enough? I was twelve before I figured out "iron curtain" wasn't a household chore.
