Caption: Do you think that you've already lived the best day of your life? Yup. It was that day we went scuba diving in Egypt. And there were dolphins swimming all around us, and one of them let me ride on its back. We've never been to Egypt or swum with dolphins. Yup. Best day ever.

I always figured you'd want to wear this when I'm gone to remember me. Thanks, but I'll just remember you by the permanent indentation your behind has left on the sofa cushion.

To get by you had to be tough and you had to grow up fast. How old are you now, son? Six. When I was your age, I was eight and a half.

Caption: This is boring. Can I change the channel? No! Don’t touch that dial! What's a dial? Well, I guess TV's don’t have dials anymore, but that's how we changed channels before remotes. We'd get up, walk over to the TV, turn the dial to a channel, and then walk back to the sofa. We had to do that every time we wanted to change the channel. Wow! Those were brutal times. I believe that's why folks died younger back then.

Caption: Grampa, have you ever seen Santa Claus? Yes, I did. It happened when I was about six. We were spending Christmas at the old homestead. I was in bed late one night when I heard a noise outside. I ran to the window to see what it was. What I saw was a fat, white-bearded old man in a red suit walking through the snow toward the house. I crept downstairs to get a better look at him. Was it Santa? Yeah, I think so. Or it might've been my grampa in his red long underwear coming back from the outhouse. I'm still not sure.

Caption: I remember the day I got my first pair of eye glasses. I could finally watch the radio without having to squint. You watched the radio? Don’t you mean the TV? Nope. We didn’t have TV. We all sat around each night and stared at the radio. Those were the happiest times of my childhood. That explains a lot about grampa.
