Caption: Ask Sadie. Dear Sadie, Were you ever young? If so, what was it like for you? -Grandma Pat. *(Actual reader letter) Ask Sadie at rudy@rudypark.com. Awful and typical. I experienced wild hormone swings, had crazy flings with key members of the Roosevelt administration, indirectly caused two world wars and, in a drunken rage, destroyed evidence of alien landings in Roswell. The usual stuff. Getting old is worse. I don't want to hear about it. (This cartoon was originally published on 2014-07-10)

Caption: Today on the Ask Sadie Show, we'll be addressing one single topic: Donald Rump. In other words, we'll be discussing the childish way people mangle the names of politicians with whom they disagree. Such as Barack O-Blame-A, Ronald Raygun, George W. Tush, Shrillery Clinton, Jimmy Farter, Gerald Bored, Herbert Loser, Cow Pen Coolidge ... and one from great-grandma Cohen's day ... Abraham Stinkin'.

Caption: Today on the Ask Sadie Show, we'll be addressing one single topic: "Comeuppance." Specifically, we'll talk about how the tables have finally turned on men who've preyed on women for generations. It reminds me of the last time there was such a dramatic reversal of the social order. The place: France. The year: 1789. Great-great-great-great-great-grandma Sadie had just invented the guillotine. Ironically, she'd invented it as a new way to cut cake.

Caption: This is the Ask Sadie show. You're on caller. What's your problem? The Orville. Don't get me started. Orville Redenbacher stole his popping-corn recipe from Grandma Cohen. But … "but she stole it from Clarence Hornswaggler descendant of the guy who stole it from the Native Americans," Yeah everyone knows that story; it's fake news. No, I meant "The Orville," that "Star-Trek" type show by Seth McFarlane. What's that have to do with popcorn? Call back when you're not so confused. Next caller!

Caption: All you young people keep whining about the country being "divided." You don't know what "divided" is. Grandmother Cohen was a general in the Union army. Her sister was a Confederate general. They didn't let women fight in the Civil War. Of course not. But as luck would have it, Great Grandmother Cohen was the best fake-beard-maker in the land. Nobody ever dared ask "Stonewall Jackson" why "he" often wore his hair in a bun. The history books always leave out the best parts.

Caption: Welcome to Ask Sadie. You're on, Santa Cruz. What's your problem? I feel like something wonderful is about to end. Excellent question. That reminds me of the time great, great, great, great, great Grandma Cohen was a weather forecaster in France. The year was 1812 ... A short Frenchman with a spit-curl summoned her to his chateau on the outskirts of Versailles. He said "Tell me, witch, how will the weather be in Russia this year?" She took offense to being called a witch, so after consulting her cauldron and her buzzard, she lied and told him "The winter will be warmer than usual. Dress your troops casual." What were we talking about again? We were ... I ... don't remember.

Caption: What's your question for "Ask Sadie"? My mom's in a nursing home. I think someone's stealing her jewelry. What's the matter, you're afraid someone is stealing your inheritance? Simple solution: send your mother to Japan where their entire culture reveres the elderly. Sayonara, grandma!!! Are you sure that's not a just a stereotype? Who cares?!

Caption: I'm having a Thanksgiving get-together, Mort, but my date's bringing her grandma. Want to come along to keep her company? I'm avoiding Thanksgiving this year. I hear there's an awful turkey-borne illness going around. Best to play it safe. Turkey? Who said anything about turkey? I'm serving the patented "Randy 'The Rock' Taylor's Sexy Holiday Meal." A dozen oysters, chocolate chunks, red wine, and Marvin Gaye playing softly in the background. Be there at 4:30. Sorry, that's past my bedtime.

Caption: "Ask Sadie Advice Hour," what's your question? I'm seeing two men. One's poor but I'm crazy about him. The other feels more like a friend but he's filthy rich. If I could somehow combine the two of them into one man, he's be the perfect man for me. But I can't, so which one should I keep? Grandma Cohen once told me, "If you've got two suitors you wish you could combine into one, that means neither is right for you." But Grandma Cohen never lived to see the wondrous advances in black-market surgery we enjoy today.

Caption: With all this yammering about Russia, nobody's really asking the right question. Why should we do anything about it if even the Ukrainians aren't willing to fight to hold on to their country. Sure, it'd be certain death. But would anyone "remember the Alamo" of Davy Crockett and my grandmother hadn't fought till their dying breaths for it? The history books are woefully incomplete. Isn't the Alamo where John Wayne died?
