Caption: It's too bad the National Cartoonists Society's awards ceremony happens to be in Memphis tomorrow. Tennessee just passed a law allowing therapists to discriminate against lesbian, gay, and transgender people. So now these hundreds of cartoonists are going to be basically supporting a new Jim Crow state. Every hamburger will have segregation sauce. Every glass of booze will be a glass of separate-but-equal. Every Snickers they pull from the minibar will taste of nougaty injustice. I'm getting very hungry.

Caption: I went to the Russian Olympics. Oh, that's cool. How was it? Well at first I was afraid it was going to be nothing but unfamiliar customs and strange food … but then I saw their harsh anti-gay laws in action. It was just like being in Arizona, or Utah, or Oklahoma, or Texas, or Louisiana, or Mississippi, or Alabama or South Carolina. Always nice to find a little bit of home in foreign land. And their Taco Bell gave me the poops, just like ours.

No, that part just sounds desperate.

The issue of marriage equality is best handled by the states. But … if there's one thing the Civil Rights Movement taught us, it's that only the federal government can stop the states from denying minorities their equal rights. SEGREGATION NOW, SEGRATION FOREVA! Stop that.

Caption: I'm tired of people comparing anti-gay laws to bigotry against Black folks. I mean, WE faced slavery and lynchings and beatings. Sure, gays have been beaten and killed for centuries, slaughtered in the Holocaust, and denied equal rights and everything, but that's just not the same. If it were all that bad, they'd have had their own miniseries by now. Say what? Where's the gay "Roots"? You just don't see it. Until I see the gay Kunta Kinte on my TV, I refuse to take any of this seriously.

If I took away rights only from Catholics, would that be bigotry? Well, I'm not Catholic, so no. It wouldn't be.

And then you voted to take equal rights away from gay people. Check. And you don't see any shameful irony in that. Check.

It's like me and my boogeyman are just going through the motions. Y.M.C.A.!

Caption: You left your wife and married Lance the mailman? I had no choice. California legalized gay marriage. Obviously, that meant traditional marriage must die, and we must all turn gay. So instead of waiting for the inevitable, I figured I'd just get it over with now. Some people will do anything to prove a point. Don't tell Lance about me and Arnold.

Caption: Sometimes when my fellow anti-gay Republicans get caught trolling for gay sex in bathrooms, it makes me think about an uncomfortable truth. What? That being in a party that hates you and denies people like you equal rights… …can make you do crazy things to keep your identity a secret? Yes, you understand me. No, that's not it at all.
