Caption: Promise me you'll watch Donald Trump's press conference. What fo'? Because I'll be asking him an important question. Because you're interested in what your best friend does for a living. Because you're proud of your best friend's accomplishments and want to show your support. You're not saying anything. You know you really accomplished when you don't need nobody support. I'm supportin' you by not supportin' you.

Caption: Lemont … have I told you how much I appreciate having you as a friend? Thank you! I mean, some guys try to be all "alpha-male" all the time. Like this guy I'm seeing. Last night, the dude was flexing his massive biceps while he was hugging me. That was a real turnoff. I like that I've known you all my life, and I still have no idea if you have any muscles. Thank you.

Caption: I can't get to sleep, Clyde. Say what, Big L? When we were kids and you slept over, we'd talk about aliens and stuff all night if we couldn't get to sleep. Yeh, but uh … when you grown and you can't sleep, you call a woman, not no 'nother dude. That's kinda ... you know ... You think aliens are ever homophobic? Last thing I wanna hear when I'm in bed is a deep voice.

Caption: I was talking to Susan about Robin Thicke's love life yesterday, and I felt guilty. I usually talk to her about intelligent, important matters. I usually save any dumb, frivolous, utterly inconsequential thoughts for when I hang out with you. Talking about Robin Thicke should've been our thing. I think I'll get over it, bruh.

Caption: I always wanted a circle of friends like the ones I saw on TV, Dr. Noodle. I wanted friends who would stick by me through all my failed romances … like in "Sex and the City" … Friends who would care enough about me to argue with me when I'm wrong, like in "A Different World" ... Friends who would do silly dances to make me lighten up, like in "What's Happening!!" ... Friends who would fight every battle for me, like Fonzie did for Richie Cunningham. Why can't I find friends like those?! Maybe because you've spent all your time watching tv. Frasier Crane never would've said that.

Caption: How many fights you think I been in in my life, Big L? I try not to think about it, Clyde. I figure as long as I don’t have statistics about the horrible details of your life, I can pretend you're actually a good person. Denial is a skill I began honing at an early age, when I first saw "Galactica 1980". If I could convince myself that show was good, I could convince myself of anything. No offense. I started a fight exactly ... For the love of god, man, don't ruin our friendship!

Caption: Guess what happened on my date the other day, Lemont. You had a date? I'm so happy for you. Soon you'll have a second date, and a third, and then it'll be a full-blown relationship, complete with hand-holding, imagining what your kids will look like, and awful fights. Then you'll get tired of him and concoct a reason to discard him like a used Kleenex. I'm sorry to hear about your breakup. Some people can know you too well.

Caption: I've been feeling kind of isolated lately. Dr. Noodle. It's like the more Facebook friends I get, the fewer real friends I have. I'm starting to feel like people who don’t really know me know me better than people who know me well. Does that make sense? Mind if I write a paper about you? Ph.D. (This cartoon was originally published on 2013-05-24).

You might want this: It's about a series of articles you published last year. Call from (555) 555-1234. I'm calling from the MG Center for Justice and Human Rights. Whachy'all be sellin'? What? No, I'm calling to say congratulations, you've won this year's Mahatma Gandhi award for journalism, for you ... Whatever. We ain't want none of whatever it is. Goodbye. Boop. This end up. Did I leave my phone over here? I got rid of some telemarketer for you, bruh. You owe me $2 for my services.

Caption: I got so angry at "The Flash" the other day. Flash went to the super-villain Captain Cold for help. Dr. Noodle. And Captain Cold knew he was Barry Allen. In fact, everyone on the whole show knows his secret identity. Ph.D. I kind of flipped out when I realized that. Why'd I even care? You were jealous. All those people knowing his true identity reminded you you have very few close friends who know the real you. Shut up. You don't know me.

Caption: I'm sorry, Clyde. Whachoo talkin' 'bout? Yesterday I accused you of stealing my wallet, ordering $800 worth of junk from Amazon, and lying about it. I cussed at you, threw a drink in your face, and called your momma a Sasquatch. Turns out it was my baby boy who took my wallet and went on Amazon. I'm so proud of him! He's only two and he already knows how to order 57 bags of rabbit food. Oh, oh, oh. So when he take yo' wallet, it's cute. When I take it, it's "grand larceny."

Caption: How's it coming? This profile I wrote for you will definitely appeal to a good man, Susan. "Looking for a gentleman who's into science fiction, who's not afraid of crying, and who thinks about calling his mother every day. Actually calling his mother every day would be kind of stalker-ish." Maybe I'll write my own profile after all. "Must be ok with my having a virile male best friend."

Caption: Sorry I dunked on you in front of your little boy, Big L. That be insensitive right there. An' I'm sorry I swatted that ball from out your hand in front of your baby boy every single time you tried to take a shot. That was wrong too. An' I'm sorry I pulled your shirt up over the top of yo' head in front of your boy when I won, Big L. Are you sorry you keep reminding me of all that in front of my little boy? Not really.

Caption: No, Lemont, I'm not going to tell you how much I earn. But why not? We're friends. I'll tell you how much I earn. It's not the same thing, Lemont. Why? Because you earn more than I do? Susan, why would you be worried about that? I wouldn't get all jealous or insecure about it or anything. How much money someone has says nothing about them. I'm glad you feel that way. How much nothing are we talking about?

Um … Um … Happy-birthday-happy-anniversary-of-the-first-day-we-ever-met-congratulations-on-that-thing-you-did-your-hair-looks-beautiful-that's-a-nice-outfit-I-totally-agree-with-what-you-just-said-and-yeah-your-co-worker-sounds-crazy. Caption: All right, I'll admit it: There were just way to many plot twists in the "Empire" season finale. First you find out that thing about Lucious … then there's what Hakeem does to Lucious … then there's what Dre and Rhonda do to Uncle Vernon … then there's what Dre, Rhonda, Cookie, Vernon and Hakeem do to Jamal ... then there's what Vernon and Cookie do to Lucious ... This still doesn't explain why you only really have two friends. Fewer friends means fewer people who can DO to me.

That's when I give out free copies of the thing I slaved for over two years to friends who think it's some kind of compliment to not pay me $8.95 for it. … Or tomorrow for friends who I forgot just bought me a $16 movie ticket. Dios Mio. (This cartoon was originally published on 2013-01-24).

Caption: Jesus was right, Susan: "No prophet is accepted in how own hometown." When I posted a link to my latest novel on Facebook, over 400 of my Facebook friends bought it. But I've never met any of those people. I only know 12 of my Facebook friends in real life. And not a single one of them bought my book. That's only 'cause we get to know what's on your mind for free. I'm billing you $8.95 for this conversation. (This cartoon was originally published on 2013-01-23).

Caption: Aiight … Let's retrace your steps. Where's the last place you saw your burrito? In your hands. I asked you to hold it for one second while I tied my shoe. I see. Well, it could be anywhere. I don’t see no point in even lookin' no further. Give me MY burrito. There's an old saying: "Don't nobody OWN a burrito. The burrito just passing through." (This cartoon was originally published on 2013-01-21).
