Caption: This country's overrun with people who hate talking about racism more than they hate racism itself. I wrote an article about a breaking story. I called it White Man in a Pickup Truck Shoots into Black Family's Car, Kills Seven-Year-Old. Hundreds of people replied Why do you have to bring race into it? Bet they came up with all kinds of excuses. On of them said Some pickup-truck drivers just really don't like cars.

Caption: So then I climbed out of the air duct to interview the little refugee. I was four, but now I'm five. It was my birthday. There was something off about his story. Two army men with bayonets put us on a train. We got to ride it for four whole days. Were you scared when they took you from your parents? They didn't. We're all here. We get to stand in line for food together. We get to see the machine guns pointing at us together. Veteran journalist that I am, I didn't jump to any wild conclusions. What year is this? Is this 1942? This is 1942, isn't it. We get to say the pledge of allegiance every day together ...

Caption: At the refugee internment camp. I feel for the babies and their asylum-seeking parents. Most fled for their lives, only to have their families ripped apart. And when they're deported, many of those men, women and children will face certain doom. I've never known you to be so compassionate, boss. Most of them couldn't use any vast savings to bribe stooges - I mean, their connections on the city council - to donate a condemned storefront so they could open a new cafe once they're smuggled out of jail. VERY BAD MAN. Times like these make me conscious of my privilege.

Caption: My assistant, Dick Fink, somehow removed all the glass from my windows and I nearly plummeted to my death. I need to fire him, sir. Don't you think you're being just a tiny bit hysterical, Garcia? You're not sure it was him. And the man has a family to support. Whatever it is, work it out. Does he have something on you, Mr. Fitzhugh? You're always protecting him. Does he know some dirty secret? Of course not. By the way, totally unrelated ... let's whisper when we discuss Fink, ... just for kicks. Yayle. CEO of the Year.2002.

Caption: I'm tired of people complaining about how the president's chief of staff, John Kelly, said Robert E. Lee was an "honorable man." So what if Robert E. Lee was a cruel, slave-beating, family separating white supremacist traitor who even kidnapped free black Pennsylvanians and brought them to the south as property? John Kelly's right, we can't judge people from back then by what people today think is right and wrong. Y'know, a lot of people thought it was wrong "back then." That's why there was a war. I don't see what that has to do with anything.

Caption: What brings you to therapy … "Steve"? I feel like everything is slipping out of my clutches. Dr. Noodle. I spent years cozying up to the boss, isolating him from the advice of others, stoking his paranoia. I subtly convinced him that everyone was against him and that he could trust no one but me and his family, and even they were a little fishy. I had him in the palm of my hand. I said "buy," he bought. I said "sell," he sold. I said "destroy," and he ruined the lives of the people I said were his enemies. I was the most powerful man in the world! I was the man behind the throne! Did I say I charge $100 an hour? I meant to say $1,000. But then I made the mistake of turning off his tv in the middle of Finding Dory. It's his favorite movie.

Caption: That trailer for Eddie Murphy's "Mr. Church" don't look like nothin' but "Driving Miss Daisy Part 2." It look like it literally a film about a brotha who spend decades serving white people an' tryin' to be part of they family instead of makin' his own. I was willin' to look the other way when he was talkin' to animals, and when a tree made him shut up for a whole movie, an' when he played a donkey. But when he play a black man who want nothin' outta life but to cook grits for two white women, I draw the line. It's a true story!!! That makes it ok.

Caption: When someone says "Black Lives Matter," I respond by saying "All Lives Matter." Because I don't see color. But if you "don't see color," you can't see that young black men are far more likely to be shot unnecessarily by police than men of any other color. And you can't solve a problem if you can't even see it exists. It felt food to stand up for equality. So I didn't stop there. What do you mean? OWS protester love of red velvet cake. Daily Nut Job. Obama wet bed as child, covered it up. Goodnight Grandpa. I came across a "breast cancer survivor" meeting at the rec center. I poked my head in and shouted "All Cancer is Bad." By the looks on their faces, I could tell some of them realized they'd been totally horrible for acting like their cancer was so much more important than other cancers. Also confesses to having red "Little Red Riding Hood." Exoneration. I came across a funeral this morning, and after the eulogy I reminded the family that all people die, and that it's wrong of them to act like this one was more special than the rest of us. Has aversion to pepper spray. Why?

Caption: So what happened when you took Lionel to visit his mom? I don't know. For some reason, I never remember what happens with her. What? If I were a superhero, my power would be forgetting bad experiences. Dios mio. I wonder if I can sell "Forget-Man" to Hollywood. (This cartoon was originally published on 2012-05-25).

Caption: Excuse me, can you show me how to get to the train station? I'm going home. Huh? I'm sleeping, I'm not going anywhere. Who are you, anyway? My name's Emmett Roscoe Bell Sr. I'm not rich or famous. I raised a family. I was a bus driver for over 40 years. I served in World War II. I'm a normal working-class man. I did the best I could with the 94 years God gave me.

Caption: My fiancée's family hates me. As long as she's with me, they'll treat her as an outcast. I feel so guilty about dividing the family. Dr. Noodle. How do I fix this? You have two options … You can suck up to them and hope that will win the affections of the sort of people who think it's their right to judge you ... ... Or you can be a good man, lead a life of integrity, be content that you know you're good for her, and don't give a @#$% what other people think. So you're saying changing my name and getting plastic surgery ISN'T one of the options?

Caption: My brother used to collect DC Comics, while I collected Marvel. He always acted like his were so much better than mine. Dr. Noodle. "Superman could kick Spider-man's butt!" he'd say. One time he said … "What's that? Wolverine is jealous of Cyclops? Tell me about that later, I think The Flash is about to sacrifice himself to save the entire universe." But look what's happened: Marvel's superhero movies are SPANKING DC's. "Avengers" earned $50 trillion, while the last "Superman" flick made $42.50. All I asked was "Do you still feel inferior because your brother bought a house while you're still renting a studio apartment?" And all I'm saying is, you win some, you lose some.

Caption: Roxanne loves Lionel too. And she's rich. So why does he need me? Simple: I love him and he loves me ... but there's also the big picture, Judge. The social dynamics, set in motion by slavery's destruction of the black family unit ... have created a culture in which generations of black men have grown up estranged from our feathers. "Fathers," I mean. Sorry, I'm not used to saying that word. Objection, the petitioner is being a drama queen.

Caption: What's going on in here, Garcia? Mr. Fitzhugh, Dick Fink, my assistant, tried to trick me into signing this resignation letter. He's after my job. Ms. Garcia, are you questioning my character? I'm a hard-working family man. Notice he's not denying it. Oh, I'm shocked. My delicate sensibilities can't take these irresponsible allegations. He's not denying it. It's not nice to attack a family man's character, Garcia.

Caption: New Orleans, 1719. The prophecy I found sayeth that the vampire who gives birth shall walk in the sun… …Shall fear no flame, and shall at last know the taste of garlic twisty bread. Oh, and she will rule over mankind. We are vampires, girl! I will not hear such heresy! Besides... ...We all know you just want to be able to see yourself in the mirror. What? Cannot a manpire tell a wompire joke anymore? This P.C. fuss maketh me batty.

Caption: Man, are you thick. Let me put it this way: if you marry Roxanne, she'll suck the life out of you. Yeah, she's bossy. No, she will LITERALLY suck the life out of you. Roxanne, her dad, the whole family…they're…they're vampires. Don't you understand?! They're soulless creatures who drink blood! Ok, I'm a writer, so I can tell when someone goes one stop too far on the metaphor bus.

Really takes my back. Friends, family, good times, y'know? And that's when the stampeded for the door happened.
