Caption: I read your article called We Still Have Slavery in America. What a load of nonsense. Everyone knows our dear, sweet and wonderful Congress abolished slavery with the thirteenth amendment. That's right. But that same 13th amendment says Except as punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly connected. Trump calls mass incarceration "good start". Black and brown people are stopped more often, and convicted more harshly than white people who've done that same stuff, our prisons are mostly black and brown. They force these people to work. Sometimes for next to nothing. But often for nothing at all. They lease convicts out to work in mines, to pick cotton on farms, to sew lingerie, to build weapons of war, and if they refuse to work for free, they're punished. Yeah, well ... slavery was in the 19th century. This is the 21st, ipso facto, it can't be slavery. Haven't you wondered why they've sent millions and millions to prison for smoking the wrong plant?

Caption: Twitter™. Twitter.com/Candorville. @Candorville - I read your interview with your old roommate who joined ISIS. It was heart-breaking, cuz it reminded me of my own daughter who also ran away to join terrorists … instead of staying home and ordering the brand new cotton flavored grizzly bear treats from tinyurl.com/bxn8Lm6. The pope is right, Capitalism is getting out of control. Twitter™. Oh, how I loved my daughter.

Caption: Is that roll of sandpaper next to your toilet always there, or do you just break it out for guests? Another stereotype bites the dust. Thug 4 Life. Some of us don't need cotton-puff ultra-soft 6-ply pansy-wipes, Big L. There's literally a role of sandpaper next to your toilet. Look there's just some things you don't want people doing in your house. (This cartoon was originally published on 2012-04-27)

Caption: The Economist ran a book review where they called for a more "objective" look at slavery. They whined that "almost all the blacks in [this] book are victims, almost all the whites are villains." What, that surprise you, Big L.? Next thing you know, people gonna look into the slaves' high school records to see if they ever got suspended. Then they gonna go through the slaves' Facebook photos an' if they don't find no thug poses, they'll just Photoshop some gold teeth on the bruthas. They'll say Kunta Kinte stole a pack of cotton balls so he deserved what he got. Good talk, Clyde.

Caption: I got so burned the other week when I grabbed my Massacreforce 7 Sr-25 carbine sniper rifle and rushed to support that Cliven Bundy guy. I had no idea he'd turn out to be a big old racist who'd say that "negroes" are lazy, idle porch-sitter who were better off as slaves than they are receiving public assistance. What a fool! What an idiot! We should've used the official code words! You don't say "negroes," you say "inner city." You don't say blacks are lazy parasites who should learn to pick cotton again, you say "the inner city has an 'entitlement culture.'" It's much easier to pretend racism is over when racists aren't so indelicate about it.

Caption: What do you see when you look at that cloud, Susan? I see a cloud. Sometimes a is just a cloud. I disagree. Nothing is what it seems. From afar, a cloud looks like a piece of cotton. If we didn't know that cotton can't float in the sky, we'd think it WAS cotton. It's our perception that makes it what it is, to us anyway. For instance, I perceive you to be about to make me a ham sandwich. (This cartoon originally published on 2011-01-01).

Caption: Meanwhile, at a plantation formerly known as Mount Misery… Ahh … Does Donald Rumsfeld enjoy an ice cold lemonade? One could say that. Is it unfair for folks to blame him for Iraq going wrong, just 'cause he was defense secretary? Maybe. Is it wrong for folks to blame him for all the so-called "torture" and false imprisonment he oversaw? Who knows? Is he glad he resigned? Absolutely. Is retirement boring him out of his cotton-picking mind? You bet. Will you PLEASE stop that?!
