Caption: Where's Rudy? He was here a second ago. We got into an argument. I was yelling at him about mixing up the hand soap and the body wash, and he excused himself. I have no idea where he is. Hiding under laurel's bed. In a relationship discussion. Need help. Breathe. Stay hidden. Coming.

Caption: So I used body soap to wash my face. Why is that so bad? Details matter. Pay attention to your surroundings. Face soap isn't body soap. Conditioner isn't shampoo. Moisturizer isn't hand lotion. If we're ever going to move in together and have a future you've got to pay attention to me and the nuances about my life. Conditioner isn't shampoo? I'm livid and you have stinky hair!

Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park

Image Number: 176214
Caption: It feels good to stop wasting water. Al Gore would be proud. And electricity - Don't forget we're saving on that. That would be used to heat the water, and light the room. We no longer encourage the manufacture of chemical-based cleansing products sold in wasteful plastic and paper packaging. Stop! Men should not rationalize their failure to shower every day on the basis that it's environmentally friendly. Oh, how you hate Mother Earth. I like inhaling without stink. My smell is organic.

Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park

Image Number: 174752
Caption: Finally, the cleansing process is working. I've not hit on a gal for give days. House of Java.net Cybercafe. I feel my head clearing. I'm able to perceive the world not in terms of romantic conquests but more richly, more broadly. I'm using more senses. I hear the sound of the espresso machine, smell the fresh scones, taste fall's aroma. Mostly, I smell the stink of my own unwashed body under this shroud. End of cleansing! About time.

7. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2018-11-01 cleanse
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-11-01 Pub. Date: 2018-11-01
Image Number: 174750
Caption: The cleansing process isn't working. For some reason, I can't seem to purge myself of the urge to hit on chicks. Why bother? I do it once a year for a week so that I can prove I have some control over my life and urges and so I can see new things in the world, besides just hot gals. For instance, did you know we have a bicameral democracy? Duh. Learned during cleansing '86, the year after discovering low-fat cheese. Of equivalent efficacy.

Caption: Day 3. It's been 72 hours since I've hit on a chick or let myself be preoccupied with one. The cleansing process is working. I'm beginning to broaden my horizons. For instance … I wonder what will happen in the election. I should ask that gorgeous brunette over there sipping the latte! Begin again, Day 1.

Image Number: 174748
Caption: Oh, man. I can feel the burn. You look fine. What's the problem? It's been 24 hours since I last hit on a fine gal, contemplated doing so, sent an email to an ex, or read Maxim. The first 24 hours of my annual cleansing process are the hardest. I crave the sweet connection of a lady friend. But I can fight through a week without. Oh, stop it! Try fighting through a decade without!

Image Number: 174747
Caption: Let the cleansing begin. Are you wearing a frock? During one week each fall, I cease my efforts to bag the babes. It's a cleansing process. No flirtation, no overtures at bus stops or bars, no flashing of Larry the Python. Who? My biceps. Ensconced this week in a frock. I'm stuck on the name Larry.

Caption: Today on the Ask Sadie Show, we'll be addressing one single topic: "Britain." Specifically about how a recent poll shows that nearly half of Britain misses Colonialism. They miss the day when they rounded up natives into camps, massacred them, tortured them into submission, ethnically cleansed whole regions, carved up their lands into arbitrary countries and made them all play cricket. Before I open the line to callers, I'm warning you, there will be a strict limit on the number of "Make Britain Great Again" jokes I will allow.
