Caption: Of course they gon' kill net neutrality, Big L. So what we won't be able to visit any site we want to online anymore. Nothin' good last forever, bruh. It's like that old Doctor Zeus book said … Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. I don't think Doctor Seuss meant we should apply that to our freedom. Freedom just an illusion, bruh, like parking tickets.

Caption: I went to the Russian Olympics. Oh, that's cool. How was it? Well at first I was afraid it was going to be nothing but unfamiliar customs and strange food … but then I saw their harsh anti-gay laws in action. It was just like being in Arizona, or Utah, or Oklahoma, or Texas, or Louisiana, or Mississippi, or Alabama or South Carolina. Always nice to find a little bit of home in foreign land. And their Taco Bell gave me the poops, just like ours.

Caption: Morrie Turner. Father of diversity on the comics page. Soul Corner. In 1965, Morris "Morrie" Turner became the father of diversity on the comics page when he launched "Wee Pals" … The first syndicated strip featuring black, white, Latino and Asian characters. Morrie became an instrumental part of the civil rights movement after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when over 100 papers added his message of racial harmony to their comics pages. Every Sunday in Wee Pals "Soul Corner," Morrie celebrated African-American historical figures that the history books usually ignored. Proving to little kids everywhere that now matter what we look like, we could grow up to be doctors, scientists, academicians, leaders ... and cartoonists. 1923 - 2014. Morrie Turner.

Caption: Supposedly my iPhone's been tracking my movements for years, Susan. YEARS! Strangers could paint a portrait of my unique and intricate pattern of comings and goings. Where I eat, where I shop, whom I visit, and when. Strangers could find out everything I do, Susan. IT'S AN OUTRAGE! But you don't do anything all that interesting. That's what I mean! Now there's a permanent record of my being boring.

Caption: I'm tired of people playing the race card every time a state restricts voting rights. Take North Carolina, for instance. I mean, sure, the head of Pasquotank County's Republican Party says he plans to challenge the voter registration of students at a historically black college. I don't see how that's racial. You don't? News-Weak. No, in fact, it's the people who NOTICED that most of the students at the black college are black ... They're the racists. You nose is bleeding. What are you talking about? I don't see any nose except yours. Maybe it's yours. Maybe it's YOURS that's bleeding. Hello, 911? ... Yes, I'll hold.

Caption: I've been stopped and frisked eight times. Three of those times, the cop held a gun to my head. One of those times I had to lie face-down in the dirt. Mayor Bloomberg said it's the price I have to pay to make Americans feel safe. Aren't you an American? Only when it's time to pay taxes.

Caption: What do you think of "stop and frisk"? I think it's rude. If cops are going to violate my constitutional rights, the least they could do is not waste my time. "Walk and frisk" would be a little more acceptable. Or "bike and frisk." I've got places to be. Dios mio.

Caption: Dear journalist … I read your expose about how the National Security Agency is monitoring everything we say and do. In order to read it, I had to approve the "terms of service" for my Web browser, which included letting them store my browsing history, bookmarks and passwords. After I was done detailing the events of my day on Facebook, I posted a link to your article. I was hoping one of the 2541 strangers who friended me could explain it to me. The train has left the station. I mean, what is this "privacy? of which you speak?

Caption: Before spying on reporters' emails, did the Justice Department consider the devastating effects it could have? We did. We were worried the news may become nothing more than poorly sourced, superficial noise that nobody trusts or cares about. … Are being sarcastic? We worried newspapers would close their bureaus and fire their staffs, and TV news would become all partisan and opiniony.

On the other hand … The paper wants you back, to report on that overblown government-spying-on-journalists'-email-gate. And they're offering you a lot of money. Click. Huh? Whozit? Why are you here? That's classified. Anyway, I just don't want to see you sacrifice this special time with your boy. Especially since your own dad abandoned you.

Caption: I'm tired of opportunists pretending there's some sort of "War on women." … Just because in the states, we're trying to de-fund Planned Parenthood, repeal equal pay enforcement acts, and force women to undergo unnecessary medical procedures. … And just because we're trying to make sure women can only have contraceptive coverage in their health insurance if their bosses decide they can. None of that has anything to do with women. It's all about freedom. Besides, if chicks has less nookie, they wouldn't have to pay so much for the pill. That's not how the pill works. I have a constitutional right to decide how the pills does and doesn't work.

Caption: What were you thinking about when you went to bed on 9/11? I was praying to wake up the next day and it'd all just be a dream. What were you thinking about when you went to be on 9/11? I was hoping we'd rise to the occasion and honor the dead, the survivors, and the heroes ... by failing to rebuild the Twin Towers, by curtailing our own civil liberties, by calling each other "un-American," by torturing prisoners, mocking the French, invading the wrong country, and having our airports inspect kids' and old people's underpants. I like to have realistic hopes. I don't think sarcasm's allowed on 9/11 day.

Caption: 2011. Civil libertarians are upset at how often President Obama has asserted the "state secrets privilege." Some things should be secret, but still it goes to show how this president is way too secretive. That's proof he's subverting our democracy. You're just being paranoid. 2008.
