Caption: Online shopping has ruined everything. The mall just laid me off to cut costs. Really? It's going to ruin Christmas. I was the mall Santa. Now where are the tiny kids and babies going to go to sit on a stranger's lap and tell him what they want under their tree? Where are they going to go to hear a man who'll say ho ho ho? Who'll pat them on the head? Who'll tell them to stop begging for handouts? Who'll tell them to stop crying, get a job, and pull themselves up by their own bootstraps? You sure they laid you off because of online shopping? Who's going to give them a copy of The Art of the Deal and send them on their way?

Caption: I'm not buying any gifts this Christmas, Clyde. Say what? Buying someone a gift used to mean something. You used to have to go to the store and think about what they'd like. Now that you can just click a button on their Amazon Wish List, you don’t have to put any thought at all into it. It used to be the THOUGHT that counted. Now it's the THOUGHTLESS that counts. You broke, ain't you. (This cartoon was previously published on 2014-12-05)

Caption: Do you know any Christmas carols, Rosencrantz? Of course, Tyrone. (Ahem) … The fiirst noel, the ANGELS did say … No … I said "Christmas carols." You know, like "I don’t want to grow up, I'm a Toys-R-Us kid .. " Cynic.

Caption: I didn’t get anyone a Christmas gift 'case Fox News told me Obama already gave everyone gifts. Dr. Noodle. But it turns out that wasn't really true. I see. So now I have like one day to get gifts. But I gave the elves Christmas off. I can’t rescind that or I'll be in big trouble with the union. My only hope is Wal-Mart, or Best Buy. But I don't have the time to stand in line with all the procrastinators buying last-minute gifts. Besides, I'd hate to be THAT GUY ... Y'know, that guy who holds up the line 'cause he's got 7 billion gifts to buy. I hate THAT guy.

Caption: I could've sworn I saw you and Clyde looking through my window last night. It's not what it looked like, Susan. Then what is it? We were Christmas tree shopping. This year we can't afford our own trees, so we're scoping out which ones we're going to take when their owners dump them on the curb after new year's. I'd rather it HAD been what it looked like. YOU CAN'T BEAT ME, GREAT RECESSION!

Caption: Y'know the worst part of Christmas? Not knowing if people are gonna like the gifts you give 'em. Let's say that - hypothetically speaking - some thoughtful friend were to spare you that anxiety by setting up a wish list on amazoble.com. That way, you could go to your friend's website and find out exactly what she (or he) wants, ranked in order of preference. Amazoble will wrap your order, write a card and deliver it. Just a few clicks, you're done. You wouldn't waste time thinking about what your friend would want, and she'd get that "Dirty Girls Social Club" novel when wanted. it's a win-win. If hypothetically, that's what's on her - or his - wish list. I'm not too sure I like this century.
