Caption: Sir, Concast Cable's interested in an ad campaign that'll soften up their image in advance of this mega-merger. When people think of their purchase of Slime-Warmer Cable, Concast wants them to think of a mom-and-pop store … and not a corporate behemoth that's going to slash thousands of jobs, create a monopoly and eventually jack up prices. This'll be tough. On the bright side, we get to charge them the "utter (censored)" fee. Yayle. CEO of the Year 2002.

Caption: Hello Concast Cable? This is Lemont Brown. I'd like you to stop calling me. You don't really want that. Yes, I do. Stop trying to get me back. It's over. It's satellite … isn't it? I could give you more than satellite gives you … just give me a chance. No, its not ... Listen, it's not you, it's not satellite. A couple years ago, I discovered Roku. And all of a sudden, Roku gave me Netflix, and Hulu, and Crackle on my tv ... and all of a sudden I had what I never knew I'd been missing. So you see, it's not you, Concast ... it's me. You're just saying that. Yeah. I am. it IS you. You and your stupid van and your smug attitude and your crazy hidden fees. It would be a shame if I were to raise your broadband bill and then you couldn't afford to stream Netflix. See? This! This is exactly the sort of thing that made me leave you!

Caption: You've reached Concast Cable. You have a past due balance of $198 for the month of January. How would like to remedy this? By credit card? By PayPal? By cancelling your overpriced service and finding something better to do with my time that sit in front of my TV. What if I gave you $10 off for the next six months? Ok.

6. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2011-01-09 cable fee
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-01-09 Pub. Date: 2011-01-09
Image Number: 55837
Caption: I'm sorry, sir, you have to pay at the increased rate. Listen, I signed up for your "all the best" package last year, but then to get the SYFY Channel, I had to sign up for an extra "tier" of service at $5 more per month. That's correct, sir, and we thank you for your gullib ... um ... loyalty. But a rate increase is a rate increase. "All the Best" should mean all the best! Sir, your basic lineup did include all the best. It even included the Sewing Channel. Are you aware I can cancel my cable and get most of what I watch, for much less, from Netflix and online? Or I can start reading books. Now we know you're bluffing.

Caption: Wooo - woo - woo - woo. Great. Killer wolves. Where in Mexico are we, anyway? Well, judging by the shadows cast by that mountain range, the low elevation of the moon, and my recollection of Euclidian geometry … I'd say we're in THE MIDDLE OF @#$% NOWHERE!!! I meant, can't you check your iPhone? WwoooooooWoooooo. I'll take the wolves over AT&T's international roaming fees.
